Details of the Honhihar Scholarship 2024
This scholarship is designed for brilliant students who have excelled in their academic fields. The initiative also includes position-holder students from intermediate and matric exams, ensuring that merit is the primary criterion for selection.
The University Students pursuing BS degrees will receive scholarships for the entire duration of their education. Each semester, these students will be provided with nearly Rs. 50,000, totaling approximately Rs. 400,000 for the full course of their degree. This generous funding is aimed at alleviating financial burdens and encouraging students to focus on their academic success.
The Punjab Government has expanded this program to include students from top medical universities as well as renowned institutions like FAST, GIKI, and NUMS, making it a comprehensive initiative that supports students from various fields of study.
Laptop Distribution for Honhihar Scholarship Holders
In addition to the scholarships, the Chief Minister announced the distribution of laptops to deserving students. These laptops, featuring the latest I-7 13th Generation processors, will be provided to help students access the technology necessary for modern education. The laptops will be distributed in January 2024, further enhancing the students’ ability to excel in their academic pursuits.
This initiative follows a recent announcement regarding the Laptop Scheme and Honhihar Merit-Based Scholarships 2024-25, which aims to empower students with both financial support and the tools they need for success.
Distribution of Scholarships: Male vs. Female Students
The scholarship distribution will be divided as follows:
- Male Students: 12,000 students will receive scholarships.
- Female Students: 18,000 students will benefit from this program.
The Punjab Government received over 70,000 applications, but only 30,000 students were selected based on merit. To qualify, students had to achieve a minimum aggregation of 73.46% in their intermediate exams, with the scholarships being awarded purely on merit.
Future Plans and Updates
The Honhihar Scholarship Program is a landmark initiative by the Punjab Government, with an annual budget of Rs. 7 billion.
