Ahead of the winter season, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has launched an updated gas supply schedule aimed at providing reliable access for consumers amid rising demand for heating and cooking.
The new schedule, introduced by the federal government, seeks to bring relief to natural gas users during peak winter months.
Revised Winter Gas Schedule
- 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Morning cooking and heating
- 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Midday cooking and heating
- 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Evening cooking and heating
The updated timetable offers consumers three dedicated time slots for uninterrupted gas supply: 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Each slot is designated to support meal preparation and heating needs, ensuring essential gas access during high-demand periods.
SNGPL officials confirmed that the adjustment follows government directives to meet the seasonal surge in gas usage. They assured that full pressure gas supply will be available during the designated hours across all areas.
The announcement also acknowledged potential shortages due to technical challenges, and SNGPL is working proactively to maintain consistent service.
During winter, gas consumption typically spikes due to increased demand for heaters and boilers. Shorter daylight hours and heat loss from insufficient insulation further boost gas usage, making the updated schedule essential for managing the seasonal rise in demand.
