National MDCAT 2020 results are out and now the next phase of the admissions to medical and dental colleges will be announced soon. As per PMC policy, each province’s relevant admitting university will announce admissions, and UHS in Punjab is will announce admissions and prepare a merit list for medical and dental colleges of Punjab. The merit of Government Medical and Dental colleges in Punjab is expected to remain somewhere 91.3 to 91.6 percent. The exact closing merit can only be confirmed after the announcement of the merit formula.
This year almost 4000+ students of Punjab scored more than 180 marks in National MDCAT. Although there are 3200 seats in Government Medical Colleges of Punjab, almost 3022 are open merit seats. Almost 3000+ students score 182+ marks so if the 50-50% merit formula is announced, we can expect that merit will be around 91% considering the same marks of the students in FSc. But if we compare the statistics with the previous year and also take into consideration the promotion policy, it becomes evident that merit will remain around 91.5%.

- 13125 Scored between 80-89%
- 12806 Scored between 70-79%

National MDCAT 2020 Statistics for Punjab Students
- 4041 score 90% Marks
- 12265 score between 80-89%
So it is evident that students score more marks in UHS MDCAT 2019 as compared to National MDCAT 2020. As 5000+ scored 90% and above marks in 2019 while almost 4000 score 90% in MDCAT 2020. But our concern is only 3000 seats. In National MDCAT 2020, So the first 3000 students score 182+ marks. Taking into consideration their FSc marks, it becomes evident that Merit for Punjab Government Medical Colleges will close at 91.5%.
